General Passenger Recommendations

Some Attributes, Powers and Obligations of the PF

  • Apply and operate public safety policy regarding the prevention of and combat against crime.
  • Prevent crimes being committed.
  • Investigate committed crimes under the direction and command of the Federal district Attorney's Office, in accordance with the terms of the applicable provisions.
  • To exercise, with the purpose of public safety, surveillance and inspection of entry and exit or merchandise and individuals at airports, marine ports authorized for international transit, customs, free trade zones, customs sectors, customs control and customs checkpoints; as well as for the management, transportation or holding of said merchandise anywhere on national territory.
  • The Federal Police will act at free trade zones, customs, customs sectors, customs control or customs checkpoints, in support and coordination with the corresponding tax and migration authorities, in accordance with the terms of the Federal Police Law and other applicable provisions.
