  • Where can I purchase an airline ticket or make a reservation if I am in the AICM?

    • A: At the desk of the airline that you decide to travel with or in the travel agencies located within the airport.
  • Do I need a visa to go abroad?

    • A: This is essential when you travel to the United States of America, even when only catching a connecting flight in that country. For all other countries consult the Embassies and Consulates section and/or contact the diplomatic office of the country of interest.
  • What documents do I need for a national flight?

    • A: Mexican citizens: boarding pass and official ID (voter?s card, passport, driver?s license). Foreign citizens: boarding pass and valid passport.
  • How long before the flight?s departure should I arrive at the AICM?

    • A: 2 hours before a national flight and 3 hours before an international flight.
  • ? When should I arrive at the departure gate?

    • A: National flight 45 minutes and International 60 minutes before scheduled departure.
  • What is the hand luggage?

    • A: Small, light hand luggage does not need to be checked in, and maximum size is 45 cm length, 35 cm width and 20 cm depth.
    • This can be carried on to the flight and will be subject to revision in x ray machines in the security check points for access the sterile zone and departure lounge, hand luggage will be stored in the airplane compartments.
  • Can I travel with pets?

    • A: In national flights pets may not accompany you in the passenger cabin, except for guide dogs and these must be authorized by the airlines as such.

      In the passenger cabin: You may travel with pets (dogs or cats) if you have an international destination. For information and paperwork you should consult the airline. At all times in the airport pets should be in a traveling cage or carrier that fits under the seat.

      In the cargo hold: If the pet is either a cat or a dog you may consult the following link (SAGARPA-SENASICA). In case of different pets, you must go to the General Office for Animal Health, in Calle Municipio Libre No. 377, Col. Santa Cruz Atoyac, Del. Benito Juárez C.P. 03310 México, D.F. Phones. 5905-1000 Ext. 51037..

  • Where do I meet a passenger arriving on an national flight?

    • A: Terminal 1: Gate A y A1.

      Terminal 2: Gate Q.

  • Where do I meet a passenger arriving on an international flight?

    • A: Terminal 1: Gate E1 if the passenger is coming from Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Gate E2 if coming from Europe, Asia and Africa. Gate E3 if from the United States, Canada and the rest of the world.

      Terminal 2: Gate P if the passenger is coming from Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Gate N if from the United States, Europe, Asia and Canada,

      N.B: For further information consult the flight status on the information screens or go to any information module.

  • How long does it take for arriving passengers to reach the Gate exit?

    • A: With national flights, from 20 to 50 minutes after the plane lands. With international flights, from 30 to 60 minutes after the plane lands.

  • Where do I meet a minor?

    • A: Terminal 1: Gate A and/or A1, if on a national flight; Gate E1 if the flight is from Central America and the Caribbean; Gate E2 if the flight is from Europe, Asia and Africa. Gate 3 if the flight is from the United States, Canada and the rest of the world.

      Terminal 2: Gate D if on a national flight, Gates E and F for international flights.

      N.B: The minor will be accompanied by an airline representative

  • Where do I claim my baggage if it did not arrive on my travel flight?

    • A: When you realize that the baggage has not arrived, you should go immediately to the airline?s baggage claim counters; on national flights, the counters are at one side of the baggage claim conveyer belt corresponding to your flight, and on international flights you should contact the airline representative responsible for checking the baggage tickets, located at one side of the band where the airline personnel deposit their baggage.
  • Can I park my vehicle on the road outside the terminal building?

    • A: No, you are only permitted to stop your car briefly for the ascent or descent of passengers. If you wish to park your vehicle you may do so in the national or international parking lots.

  • Where can I buy a ticket for a taxi?

    • A: In the sales booth for authorized taxi tickets. These are located in:

      Terminal 1: National flights. Gate A, outside Gate A and national baggage claim. International flights: Gates E2, E3 and entrance 10.

      Terminal 2: National flights: Gate D. International Flights: Gate E and entrance 4.

  • Where is the Long-distance Bus Terminal

    • A: Terminal 1: in the international area, 1st Floor

      Terminal 2: at one side of the international flight arrivals.

  • Where can I leave my baggage for a few hours?

    • A: In the Left Baggage booths at Gates A and E2, which offer a 24-hour service 365 days of the year. For further information dial phone numbers: 58028467 and 57869048.
  • Can I page a person?

    • A: Terminal 1: You may request this service at any of the information modules in Gates A and E2 and at departure gates 19, 26 and 29.

      Terminal 2: You may request the service at the information modules located in Gates L2, D and F.

  • Where is the smoking area?

    • A: Terminal 1: Outside each one of the doors leading outdoors, national and international fast food, Gate B fast food, Gate H and first floor of building B, at one side of Gate G.

      Terminal 2: In the fast food area of the exit triangle

  • Who may use the Air Train service?

    • A: Passengers with a boarding pass and/or stub (if flight is over), flight itinerary, e-ticket, or reservation code and passengers with shared code, in transit or with a connecting flight may use the Air Train.

      Also authorized to use the Air Train are the persons accompanying:

      • Elderly adults (1 accompanying person)
      • Minors (1 accompanying person)
      • Persons with different abilities (accompanying persons strictly necessary)
      • Persons with disabilities, illness or special care needs (accompanying persons strictly necessary)
  • What are the procedures for transporting ashes and claiming a body?

    • A: To transport ashes you need only present a death certificate and the cremation documents at the security check.

      In the case of claiming a body you must communicate directly with the International Department of Health phone number: 5571-3286 and 2599-1100 for Terminal 1 and 2598-7272 at Terminal 2.

  • If I am on a journey and my connection is in Mexico, where do I claim my baggage?

    • A: If you are traveling from outside of Mexico and changing to a national flight, you will have to pick up your baggage in order to go through customs. If your connection is only transit on an international flight, your baggage will be checked into its final destination. To be completely sure consult your airline about baggage.
